Nedbank International Polo 2018

Saturday 15 September | Inanda Club, Sandton | South Africa vs Australia

The South African Polo Association is excited to announce that Nedbank is the new title sponsor for this year’s International Polo. Nedbank is a fantastic brand partner and we are looking forward to hosting THE biggest International Polo event in South Africa in September this year. The Association is also proud to have Heineken as the Official Beer Partner.

There have been two major changes this year which are detailed as below:

  • The date has changed to SATURDAY 15th SEPTEMBER
  • The venue has changed to the INANDA CLUB, SANDTON

We look forward to hosting Australia who have accepted our invitation to send a team to play against South Africa in what is always a hotly contested sporting rivalry enjoyed by all. Australia are no strangers to South Africa having toured 5 times previously in 1975, 1994, 1999, 2003 and 2011 for this International. The visitors have won three out of these five Tests so South Africa will be very keen to even the scores with a local win this year!

Picnic Sites

West Bank Picnic Sites

The West Bank Picnic Sites will be placed on top of the sand exercise track that runs in front of the buildings on the clubhouse side of the field. The sand track will be covered in boarded planks which will be flush with the ground (not raised)

West Bank VIP Picnic Sites

  • On top of interlocking flooring (flush with the ground) located close to the centre line
  • R8 700 (including VAT) per site of 10 people

West Bank Picnic Sites

  • On top of interlocking flooring (flush with the ground) on either side of the West Bank VIP Picnic Sites
  • R5 100 (including VAT) per site of 10 people

East Bank Picnic Sites

The East Bank Picnic Sites will be placed on the grass on the opposite side of the field to the clubhouse buildings. These sites will not have any flooring

East Bank VIP Picnic Sites

  • These will be on grass located close to the centre line
  • R7 700 (including VAT) per site of 10 people

East Bank Picnic Sites

  • These will be on grass on the one side of the East Bank VIP Picnic Sites
  • R4 900 (including VAT) per site of 10 people

How To Book Picnic Sites

Each Picnic Site Includes

  • 4m x 4m white picket fenced area
  • 10 x picnic wristbands
  • 10 x white plastic chairs
  • 1 x trestle table
  • 1 x canvas umbrella
  • West Bank Picnic Sites will have black interlocking flooring

Important Information

  • Food: All catering and related costs | hiring | staff has to be arranged through By Word of Mouth. No other F&B provider is permitted to work on site at the event. Please let Vicky know if you would like to look at the picnic hamper options from By Word of Mouth and she can put you in touch with them. You are permitted to bring in your own food providing it is contained within soft | collapsible cooler boxes (new legislation prohibits the use of hard cooler boxes at events)
  • Bar: Nobody is allowed to bring in their own alcohol on the day. All alcohol & other beverages as well as related costs | hiring | bars | staff needs to be arranged through By Word of Mouth. No other F&B provider is permitted to work on site at the event
  • Parking: There is no parking at the Inanda Club and we strongly urge all spectators to utilize Uber or another taxi service on the day
  • Wristbands: These will be issued closer to the time once payment in full has been received
  • Extra Tickets: You can buy individual tickets at a per head price over and above the 10 tickets that comes with each site (up to a maximum of 15 in each site). Please note however that each site is ideally suited for 10 people so anything over and above this will make the site squashed
  • Time: Gates will open at 10h00. Please keep an eye on this website for a detailed programme of events in due course

A limited number of these are now available for purchase at R150 per person (children U/12 are free) through Webtickets. These tickets will give you access to the grounds and there will be an allocated area on the East Bank where the public can sit.
