SAEF/SASCOC Policy Feed Back

SASCOC are insistent that all sports men and women join a Club within the province in which they reside. They also insist that all equestrian sports federations adhere to the geo-political boundaries of the country. In other words - the nine provinces as promulgated by Parliament. Plettenberg Bay Summer Polo

The summer polo season in December was very successful with three sections well subscribed. Four twelve-goal teams, four eight-goal teams and six two-goal teams contributed to the success of the tournament ably organised and directed by Alicia Brokensha and the Plett Tournament Committee. The grounds were in good condition despite the lack of rain and irrigation. The matches were all played in a good spirit with plenty of fast exciting polo. Six Goal Tour to Ghana

Four members from SAPA toured Ghana over the weekend of 25th November last year. The tour party was selected with a balance of youth and experience taking into account the member’s input into South African polo – be it in the form of pony lending or administration to the sport. SA Tour to New Zealand

A twenty-three goal South African team played in New Zealand’s international day at the Kikiki Polo Club near Auckland. The team consisting of Tom de Bruin, Gareth Evans, Chris MacKenzie and Duncan Watson acquitted themselves exceptionally well against a strong New Zealand line up. Ably coached and managed by Selby Williamson, it was a repeat of 2013 with South Africa narrowly losing in the final seconds of the match.
